The World's Biggest Dribble will bring together thousands of people of all ages across the Central Coast to simultaneously dribble (bounce) a basketball to set a new World Record.
The attempt, at Erina Fair on April 18th 2010 is free for all participants and is being run to raise funds from sponsoring organisations for 4 iconic Central Coast community groups.
These four organisations are Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Gosford Rotary, North Avoca Surf Club and the Gosford City Rebels (the junior basketball program of the Gosford City Basketball Association).All funds raised from Sponsorship will be shared equally across these four organisations.
Westpac Rescue Helicopter has an annual operating budget of $12 million and funds for them will go towards supporting this vital service.
Gosford Rotary will use funds raised for targeted community projects that theysupport every year.
North Avoca Surf Club will use funds for vital equipment to keep the beach safe.
The Gosford City Rebels will use funds for the further development of junior basketball, coaches and referees on the Central Coast.
During April 2009, Basketball Australia organised an event that successfully broke the Australian record for people dribbling basketballs simultaneously.
The Central Coast community and the NSW basketball community will be looking to smash the Australian record and go one step better and break the World Record in April 2010!
