Rod and The Flack interview with Peter Freewater who is a Marine Scientist with a PHD in Environmental Science and Toxicology and is also an Environmental Engineer with expertise in coastal modelling.

The interivew talks about the potential environmental impact on Avoca Beach and the local marine wildlife due to scheduled scuttling of the HMAS Adelaide.

The sinking of this ship off the Central Coast shoreline will have a great impact on tourism and Diving for the Central Coast for the better not worst. Its a done deal Central Coast see it as a positive event rather than a negative, for tourism and for the marine environment... I am looking forward to diving it one day.....

The REF is like the quote you get from the mechanic who kicks the tires and tells you it'll be $500. The EIS (not yet done) is when he spends 2 days on the engine and $1300 because he didn't realise how bad the situation was until he got under the hood.

With utmost respect to the age of his PhD, does Dr Freewater know what's going on? An Environmental Impact Study has not been done. Why say it has? Very odd. A Review of Environmental Factors has been done, and it calls out problems. See www.hmasadelaide.com/ for the REF, and look at App D and G. Also take a look at the REF itself. The project chose to interpret it as an 'all clear', and it is not.
