This Saturday 8th of September 2012 is Central Coast Rugby Union's Major Semifinal at Woy Woy Oval.
In First Grade, the major semi-final sees Avoca Beach against Kariong in what should be an intense and exciting match at Woy Woy Oval. Avoca Beach finished the season as Minor Premiers. They have a 50/50 chance of winning this major semi-final against Kariong, as both teams finished on the same points on the competition ladder.
This match should be interesting as the two teams have has a win apiece this year. In the first round, Avoca Beach won quite easily while in the second round, Kariong won. Kickoff is at 3:00pm.
Avoca Beach and Ourimbah are up against each other for the Second Grade Major Semi-finals. Both Avoca Beach and Ourimbah have performed admirably over this year’s season and this match could result either way. Ourimbah have stayed strong all season, whilst Avoca Beach has gained loads of experience. The winner of the match will move straight to the Grand Final and the other team will play an inform Terrigal in the Preliminary Final. Kickoff is at 1:20pm.
Northlakes and Kariong meet in the Third Grade Major Semi-finals and both teams are strong and committed. Northlakes have finished the season as minor Premiers and have been the form in the competition all season. This match will be tough as Kariong are keen for the Grand final. Kickoff is at 11:50am.
The Under 19’s Major Semifinals are between Terrigal and Woy Woy. Anyone of the three remaining teams can win this Premiership as this competition is the most even of all the senior grades. Any one of these two teams will win on Saturday and head straight for the Grand Final. Terrigal were the Minor Premiers of this competition and are heading to the Semis as favourites, but anything could happen at this Saturday’s game. Kickoff is at 10:20am.
