Wyong Shire Council has launched a new survey asking residents what they want from their five local libraries.

Residents can have their say via a survey, to provide input into a new three year strategic plan for library services. The new ‘Your Library, Your Choice’ survey will help to improve library services across Wyong Shire.

“Libraries are very widely used by our community and over 45,000 people are currently library card holders,” said Mayor Bob Graham.

“Libraries are especially important in encouraging lifelong learning and to those in the community who don’t have access to internet and book resources,” Cr Graham said.

“The results of this survey will show us what the community would really like to see in their libraries and what direction libraries should take in the future.”

“The libraries have already undergone major improvements. For example, the recent role out of Wi-Fi across all five libraries has been of great value to many in the community.”

The aim of the survey is to show what the community would like in their local libraries, allowing Council to offer better, very relevant, services to the community.

The survey will close on Friday 27 July, 2012 and can be viewed at http://consultation.wyong.nsw.gov.au

The survey can also be completed on a form available in Council’s five libraries, located at Tuggerah, Bateau Bay, The Entrance, Toukley and Lake Haven.
