R.E.M. have downed tools on their next album.
The yet-to-be titled 15th R.E.M. studio album was completed in Berlin at Hansa Studio.
Albums recorded at Hansa over the years include David Bowie ‘Low’ and ‘Heroes’, Iggy Pop ‘The Idiot’ and ‘Lust For Life’, Nick Cave ‘The Firstborn Is Dead’ and ‘Your Funeral … My Trial’, Snow Patrol ‘A Hundred Million Suns’ an U2 ‘Achtung Baby’.
They started work on the record in 2009 in Portland and did some more work on it earlier this year in Portland.
R.E.M,’s last album was ‘Accelerate’, released in March 2008.
The album will be released in the second quarter of 2011.
