Wyong Shire Council's Australia Day Awards 2013

Each year Wyong Shire Council recognises the achievements of individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to their local community, through the Australia Day Awards.
 
For the nomination form, head to: http://www.wyong.nsw.gov.au/ 
 
The most outstanding nominees will be chosen for all categories and one winner will be presented in each category.
 
Criteria for all categories and Citizen of the year
The nominee:
Must be a resident of the Shire.
Will have made a significant community contribution over a long term which was made without remuneration.
Should be a role model that people can aspire to.
Should be someone council can advertise and promote as such.

Criteria for the Arts & Culture Award
Someone who has made a significant contribution to cultural development within the community.
Plus the criteria listed above.
Criteria for Business Person of the Year
Someone who has made a significant contribution to the business community.
Plus the criteria listed above.
Criteria for Community Volunteer of the Year
Someone who has made a significant long-term commitment to volunteer work within the community.
Plus the criteria listed above.
Criteria for Wyong Shire Sportsperson of the Year
This award need not necessarily be an award to an outstanding playing sportsperson but could be awarded to a,“behind the scenes” organiser or promoter who has put in a lot of time and effort into sports.

Criteria for the Environmental Award
Someone who has made a significant contribution to the environment.
Plus criteria as listed above.
Criteria for the Community Service Award
An individual or group that has been responsible for creating connected, supported and welcoming communities. Examples include community events, programs and initiatives etc.
Plus the criteria listed above.
Criteria for the Community Youth Award
A young person 25 years of age and under that has made a significant contribution to the community
Plus the criteria listed above.
