Central Coast let’s get behind Leilani! This amazing young girl will be cutting her hair for Alopecia Awareness Week in November. Alopecia is an autoimmune condition which causes hair loss to the scalp and body. It can affect anyone of any race, gender or age, though it most commonly presents during early childhood. There is currently no cure or acceptable treatment. Though it is not life threatening, it can has immense emotional and psychological impact, affecting self-image, self-esteem, confidence and mental health. Leilani has been growing her beautiful hair for more than two years now, and is so excited to be able to help others with her beautiful hair and donations. Tara Lee is a 37 year old Career Coach and single mother of two. At the end of last year she was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Her diagnosis has hit the family hard both emotionally and financially because Tara had to resign from her position to undergo several months of treatment. The 'Fur And Feather Rescue Zoo' is located in the heart of Narara with over 300 residents. The organisation is run by volunteers who nurture all kinds of animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, miniature horses and goats just to name a few.
