“It’s Not About The Money”

It’s been a long time coming but Australian Actress Rebel Wilson has officially won her defamation case against magazine publisher Bauer Media over a series of articles that depicted her as a serial liar.

However the 37 year old actress has repeatedly stated that her fight was never about the money.

Wilson specifically took the publisher to court over eight articles published in May 2015 by Woman’s Day that she says damaged her career by painting her as a serial liar.

Wilson states the sole purpose of her fight was to make a stand against bullies Bauer Media and their publications

“It’s over in my mind,” she said after the jury returned its verdict.

“It’s just really not about the number … what I was hoping was that the jury would do the right thing and send a message,” she said.

In a recent hearing yesterday it was discuss how much compensation she will win for her epic defamation victory. It is said Wilson should have been earning $6 million plus for each movie she made.

In a report for the court Hollywood heavyweight Peter Principato, whose clients have included Jonah Hill and Will Arnett, said at the time the articles were published Wilson should have been commanding in excess of $6 million a film.

Following the unanimous verdict from an all-female jury, Wilson took to Twitter to cheekily celebrate the win, posting a photo of herself playing tennis with former Australian pro Todd Woodbridge.

“The reason why I’m here is not for damages, it’s to clear my name obviously.
