5 delicious cheat meals on the Central Coast

3 min read

Say goodbye to your salad for just one meal!

Arancini Balls I Pinocchio’s I Gosford

We all know what the two most important food groups are – cheese and rice, right? It’s essential to make sure you get the right amount of these two groups in your diet each week, so it’s pretty much an obligation to your health to chow down on the arancini balls at Pinocchio’s Wine and Pizza Bar! This mouth-watering dish sees a delicious mushroom, chive and cheese risotto crumbed in panko that is then deep fried to perfection, and served with garlic aioli and truffle oil. While you’re there, why not chow down on one of their delicious pizzas too – because everyone knows that pepperoni and dough are basically superfoods!

Pulled Pork Nachos I The Good Bits Co. I Gosford

Normal nachos already make our tummy rumble loud enough for other people to hear, so when it comes to nachos loaded with 9-hour pulled pork? Hell, they’ll make our tummies almost as loud as our car speakers when we’re blasting ‘Africa’ by Toto – and that’s no easy feat. These tummy-rumble-causing nachos see slow cooked BBQ pulled pork piled atop crunchy corn chips and loaded with salsa, sour cream, guacamole and cheese.  So grab your tummy-rumble-blocking ear plugs and head to The Good Bits Co. in Gosford for a bite of these!

Weekly Burger Special I Elanora Hotel I East Gosford

Look! I’s a bird, it’s a plane…no, it’s just our diets flying out the window with one of these burgers. The Elanora Hotel’s weekly burger special has developed a cult following, and you can definitely see why – they are big, delicious, and guaranteed to make you think twice about that sad salad meal prep you’ve got in the fridge. Some of the weekly creations include ‘The U.S of A’ with double wagyu beef burger with cheese waffle fries and maple glazed bacon, and ‘The Halloumi-nator’ – a tower of crumb chicken, wagyu beef, panko crumbed halloumi. But be sure to get in quick, because these specials don’t last long – on the menu and on the plate!

Chocolate Caramel Pancake Stack I Warnies Railway Café I Warnervale

Attention pancake lovers, chocolate fans, and sweet tooths everywhere! We’d like to introduce you to the mother of all sweet breakfasts – the Chocolate Caramel Pancake Stack from Warnies Railway Café. This epic tower is piled high with layers of pancakes, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, and finished off with ice cream, honeycomb, whipped cream, and strawberries. Sure, it’s designed to be shared with your nearest and dearest, but let’s be honest here – if we’re going to cheat on our diets, might as well do it without any witnesses!

All-Day Breakfast Platter I The Coast Café I The Entrance

Let’s be honest here – a dish that requires more than one level and can easily be described as a ‘tower’ is probably going to be one hell of an epic meal. The all-day breakfast platter at The Coast Café is no exception to this rule. On level one of this feast, dine on eggs, bacon, halloumi, hash browns, tomatoes, avocado, and sourdough toast, before making the journey up to level two for a pancake stack with whipped cream and maple syrup, and a delicious assortment of fresh fruits. This feast looks so good we think ALL meals should start being two levels!
