5 drool-worthy burgers on the Central Coast

3 min read

Get in our bellies!

Portuguese Chicken Burger ǀ Long Jetty Charcoal Chicken

Look guys, we’re not one to play chicken when it comes to a good burger. So trust us when we say that we aren’t shying away from the Portuguese Chicken Burger at Long Jetty Charcoal Chicken. We’ve got to be honest though – when we first saw it, we did get a little bit nervous. I mean, who wouldn’t get nervous around grilled Portuguese style chicken placed on a bun with tasty cheese, lettuce, tomato, and your choice of mayo or Peri Peri sauce? Our hearts are beating fast already… wait no, that’s just because we went up the flight of stairs here at the Star104.5 office.

B-Mak ǀ Ministry Café

The delicious B-Mak burger at Ministry Café is a take on a very famous burger from… wait, no one wants to get sued, right? The interpretation of Australia’s most loved burger sees house-made angus beef patties placed on delicious soft potato buns and topped with lettuce, red onion, American cheese, spicy pickles, and the Ministry special sauce. Yes indeed, we will definitely be macking – or ‘flirting’ for those not up on the lingo – on this burger this weekend. Don’t worry though, we’ll treat it right and try not to touch those perfect buns too much.

NYPB Burger ǀ New York Pizza Bar and Grill

The NYPB Burger instantly transports you to the Big Apple! The two beef patties sat atop delicious buns will take you to the ritz and glitz of Broadway, while the melted cheese and the bacon will make you feel like you’re screaming for a cab on 6th street. And the lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles will probably make you complain about the subway. Plus, with the delicious ketchup, American mustard and mayo, you might even find yourself talking like you’re in Law and Order (the original or SVU, not Criminal Intent. No one likes Criminal Intent).

Ratatouille Burger ǀ Breakers Country Club

Before you even think about making the joke, no – there isn’t a tiny cartoon rat called Remy fulfilling his dreams of being a gourmet chef in the kitchen at Breakers like in that Disney-Pixar movie. We’ve heard that joke. A lot.  Not based off the movie, rather off a much-loved French meal, the Ratatouille burger sees perfectly grilled vegetables gently scattered over a toasted bun and topped with a sprinkling of goat’s cheese. Trust us when we say that you’ll feel very French after you eat this – you’ll wear a beret, drink champagne and…we’ve run out of French things.

Dazed Out ǀ Burger Margarita Daze

There’s one sure fire way to know if a burger is good – if you slip into a burger-induced daze – then it’s a good burger. Well, we can guarantee that you’ll be dazed, confused and just about ready to start a Pinterest board dedicated to good buns with the Dazed Out burger. After you take one bite of the wagyu beef, American cheese, tomato, lettuce, and their house-made sauce, you’ll slip into a daze so strong you might need a comical, cinematic slap to get you out of it. And get this – on June 28th Margarita Daze will be transformed into Auntie Margies American Diner where you can grab heaps of different burgers that will send you into an extreme daze.
