Shhhhh!
Spoon Bay I Wamberal Lagoon Nature Reserve I Wamberal
When you’re looking for a good beach to visit, it sometimes feels like you’re being spoon fed the same beaches over and over again. Well, say goodbye to spoon-feeding, and hello to Spoon Bay. Situated in Wamberal Lagoons Nature Reserve, you can reach this relatively unknown beach through a bush track off Spoon Bay Road. The beach has plenty of rock pools for paddling and exploring, and a few areas to swim in the waves.

Lobster Beach I Box Head
Tucked away in Bouddi National Park behind a ring of towering bushland, Lobster Beach is a stunning, calm bay that can be accessed by boat or by a set of stairs hidden amongst the trees. With gentle waters and quiet shores, this beach is perfect for an easy swim and a sunbathe – just make sure to slip slop slap or the beach won’t be the only lobster in the area!

Tallow Beach Ι Box Head
Wedged in between Box Head and Putty Beach, Tallow Beach is a spectacular strip of sandy paradise that is reminiscent of the shores of the Great Barrier Reef. This tiny stretch can only be accessed by a bumpy 2km road followed by a 1km trail through the bush, but boy – is it worth it! The beach is quiet, un-crowded, and absolutely stunning. Once you get there, you won’t want to leave – and you won’t have to! There’s a tiny campground just a few metres up from the beach!

Little Beach I Bouddi National Park
Little Beach was very creatively named because it is indeed a little…wait for it… beach. A 10-minute walk through gum trees and ferns will talk to the tiny, yet breath-taking Little Beach. There’s maybe only 100m of sand, but with plenty of snorkelling opportunities and crystal-clear water, you won’t want to spend time on the shores!

Ghosties Beach I Monee
Before you ask – no, Ghosties Beach has no dark ghost stories behind it. However, you might look like a ghost when you see the breath-taking view on this stretch of sand! Although the secluded beach has stunning sand and clear waters, it’s actually known for what’s in the rocks around it. Tucked away under the rock formations are the Ghosties Beach Caves – a natural cave perfect for exploring!
