5 stunning places to watch the sunrise on the Central Coast

2 min read

5am never looked so good!

Norah Head Lighthouse I Norah Head

We know – it’s hard to crawl out of bed at 5am for a view, but we guarantee that a sunrise at Norah Head Lighthouse will be worth it! With a clear outlook to where the sea meets the sky, this spot offers up one hell of a view. It definitely makes up for that 4:45am alarm!

Captain Cook Lookout I Copacabana

Before heading out to Captain Cook Lookout, we recommend brewing some coffee… lots and lots of coffee. No, it’s not because it’s going to be a massive taste to get there, but because you’ll need to be wide awake to take in the picturesque sight that is the stunning sunrise at this lookout. And hey – you got up before dawn, you deserve all the caffeine you can drink.

Crackneck Lookout I Bateau Bay

It’s hard to get out of bed when the blankets are all comfy and you’ve just put your head down on the cold side of the pillow. But to you want to know what’s better? Taking the PERFECT photo of you and kids to cherish forever! And at Crackneck Lookout, you can get not just the sunrise in the background, but also the shimmering ocean!

Soldiers Beach I Norah Head

Some people are morning people who can spring out of bed before dawn, wide-eyed and bushy tailed. Others…not so much. To all those non-morning people, you really are missing out on a beautiful sight by not watching the sunrise at Soldiers Beach. We recommend you get there – even if it’s just once – to see the moment the sun peaks over the horizon of this beach. If you’re not a morning person now, that sunrise might just make you one!

The Skillion I Terrigal

The vibe at Terrigal Haven at the crack of dawn is electric! People are running, walking, and enjoying the stunning view of the sun rising. Climb the stairs of The Skillion to watch one of the most breath-taking sunrises on the Coast, and hey – those stairs are tough so it’ll be totally acceptable to skip cardio that day.
