5 stunning snorkeling spots on the Central Coast

3 min read

Grab your goggles! Toowoon Bay I Toowoon Bay Everyone knows snorkel goggles just make you look so sexy. You know the look – magnified eyes, smushed cheeks, and a big red line on your face when you take them off. Why not take that fashion statement to Toowoon Bay where you’re guaranteed to see some beautiful underwater sights! Stick to the southside, otherwise known as Little Bay, for the best sea life on the stretch. And make sure to take plenty of underwater selfies of you looking goofy in your goggles! Catherine Hill Bay Beach I Catherine Hill Bay We promise there’s nothing fishy about this suggestion! We’re not clownfish-ing around when we say that Catherine Hill Bay Beach is definitely not koi with beautiful underwater scenery! Stick to the areas near the pier, or swim upstream to the areas near Middle Camp Gully for the best experience. And we know – we should really scale back on these fish puns! Spoon Bay I Wamberal Why spend hours and hours searching for good snorkel spots when you could get spoon-fed Spoon Bay? This spot is a little section of sand at the northern point of Wamberal Beach with a rocky lagoon-like shoreline, making the perfect place for sea life to make their home! The easiest way to get to this awesome spot is to take the short walk down the access track of Spoon Bay Road. Putty Beach I Killcare If you’re after a good place to get some perfect underwater shots, then this spot will be putty in your hands! The rocks around the eastern point of the beach are teaming with awesome underwater sights just ready for a few photos. Plus, if you want some more adventure Bouddi Beach is only a 1km walk away! Maitland Bay I Bouddi National Park We know…we know… we shouldn’t be playing favourites, but Maitland Bay is just too beautiful for us to care! This spot is our personal favourite spot to explore. The cove-like bay offers up great snorkelling opportunities at both ends. Plus, because it’s tucked away from the wind and strong swells, the water is almost always calm.
