The best picnic areas on the Central Coast

2 min read

Grab the rug!

Somersby Falls

Why eat a slightly burnt snag in your backyard, when you could be eating it in natures backyard? Pack up your snags and sauces, and head to Somersby Falls for a sausage sanga. There’s plenty of free barbeques and picnic tables, and a view that can’t be matched.

Heazlett Park

Located just off Avoca Beach, Heazlett Park will keep everyone happy. The nearby beach offers perfect surf, a playground, and rock pools while the adjacent streets have plenty of places to grab some takeaway to take down to the park. No grumpy faces here!

Terrigal Haven

Named as one of the most beautiful picnic areas on the coast, The Haven is the hub of all coastal activity. There’s plenty of barbeques, tables and areas to stretch out a rug, plus plenty of activities at the nearby beach to keep the kiddies entertained after your feast. We’re raving over this haven.

The Pines Picnic Area

The Pines Picnic Area, located in the Watagans, is reminiscent of a flourishing Canadian forest. It’s perfect for a barbeque and a picnic. The area is also connected to a multitude of walking tracks, so you can burn some calories (and make room for more food)!

Mt Penang Gardens

Mt Penang Gardens is one of the most peaceful picnic areas on the Coast, and it’s not just because of the beautiful scenery – it’s because you can hang out in these gardens and know you’re not the one who has to look after it! No whipper snipping for you!
