First Snow Of The Season Settles On The Barrington Tops & We've Got Your Pictures

2 min read

Anyone could think the Barrington Tops is the Swiss Alps at the moment, with the first snow of the season settling over the region yesterday!

Now, authorities have asked people to reconsider plans to travel to the area over the coming days as the Barrington Tops Forest Road remains closed as a result of flooding in March this year but don’t worry, because we’ve got your look at the snow!

Aussie Ark has shared pictures from their Barrington Tops facility, where some of Australia’s most endangered species are relishing in the winter wonderland! Check out some of the pictures below:

The facility is located in the heart of the Barrington Tops in NSW at about 1,350 metres above sea level.

The animals who call the facility home are already used to the cold weather, but the Tasmanian devils especially are feeling right at home.

Aussie Ark’s President Tim Faulkner said the dedicated teams at Aussie Ark are still working hard to look after the animals.

“Despite the snow our dedicated team are out there working hard. We all think it’s a treat to see our animals out exploring their surroundings when dumped in snow,” Mr Faulkner said.

The first dumping of snow occurred right in the midst of Tasmanian Devil breeding season, just a few weeks after the first heck of the pouches!
