Happy Birthday Coast Shelter!

2 min read

For 25 years a local charity has provided shelter to the most vulnerable – those without homes, without meals, or without support.

Coast Shelter is a not-for-profit organisation that supports homeless and disadvantaged community members of the Central Coast.

And Coast Shelter celebrates its 25th birthday this year.

That’s 25 years of transforming the lives of homeless adults, families and young people in our community.

Every night, Coast Shelter provides accommodation to over 150 men, women, youth, and families.

Each week, Coast Shelter serves up over 1,000 free meals through the Coast Community Centre.

And every year Coast Shelter gives people at risk or in need, the opportunity to work towards independence, through 10 different programs.

Over a quarter of a century Coast Shelter has provided 15,000 beds and almost 750,000 meals to those who need it most.

The support they have given to countless Coasties is priceless.

And the support they receive is invaluable.

To celebrate a quarter century of helping the Central Coast community, they’d love to share the story of just who they have helped, and how.

If you would like to let the volunteers know what a difference this sort of support has made to your life, email mystory@coasthelter.org.au

You can remain anonymous if you prefer.
