Harvest Festival Central Coast

4 min read

The Harvest Festival is returning to the Central Coast for the June long weekend! On the 9th and 10th June 2018, the Central Coast hinterlands will come alive with a celebration of food, wine, and local produce!

There’s plenty of fun with FOUR massive event trails for you to follow in different sections of the Hinterlands:

In the Calga to Somersby Section, you can enjoy bush tucker tours, pick your own pecans and indulge in the region’s best food, wine and produce at Glenworth Valley! We might just have to go an fill up the car with petrol right now.

Meanwhile, in the Peats Ridge to Mangrove Mountain section, there’s almost too many events to fit in here – but we will definitely do our best! Across the weekend, you can head to the mountain growers market, pop into the The Springs for some enjoy delicious tapas from locally sourced ingredients, then head to the Mangrove Mountain Hall for a day of accoustic tunes from local artists.

And, it doesn’t end there! You can pop into the Mangrove Mountain Memorial Club for a bite of their local menu and an entertaining round of ‘foot golf’, you can glide over the Hinterlands with the Central Coast Soaring Club, and take part in some of the food focused workshops on offer over the weekend!

Hold on, we’ve got to take a breath before we continue. On this event trail, you can also tour a working cattle farm, sway to the best blues, soul and rock ‘n’ rock, and tuck into home grown beef in a genuine paddock-to-plate experience at Silver Gully Home.

If you choose the Kulnura trail, get ready to feel like a farmer! On this Hinterlands adventure, you’ll be able to pick your own oranges at Wyuna Farm, tour the Grace Springs Farm, and finish up the day amongst the fruit trees at Eastcoast Beverages. After a morning of working hard – just like a true farmer would – you can pop into Noonweena for a long lunch!

UPDATE:  PICK YOUR OWN ORANGES – UNUSUAL WARM WEATHER MEANS ORANGES WON’T BE READY. PICK YOUR OWN ORANGES WILL BE POSTPONDED UNTIL JULY – AUGUST. MORE DETAILS TO COME IN THE WEEKS AHEAD.

UPDATE: DAY ON THE FARM – DUE TO WARM WEATHER, DAY ON THE FARM TREES WON’T BE READY FOR HARVEST FESTIVAL REST ASSURED, THEY WILL STILL BE HOLDING FARM TOURS THROUGH THEIR ORCHARDS! 3 TOURS RUN EVERY HOUR AT 10AM, 11AM, 1PM, 2PM, 3PM.

Now, if you head up to the Northern section of the Hinterlands, and you’ll find the Yarramalong, Jilliby and Dooralong event trail! Here, you can take part in an edible flower workshop, tour the Valley End and Full Circle farms, sign up for an educational catchment crawl, pop into the produce swap, and swing your partner at the farm barn dance!  The time-honoured tradition of the Harvest Ball – a night filled with food and dancing – will also return!
