Here Is Where You Can Pay Your Respects On The Central Coast This ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day is one of Australia’s most important national occasions, which commemorates the fallen service men and women and acknowledges those who fought to defend our way of life today.

To commemorate the occasion. ANZAC Day dawn services, main services and marches will be held right across the Central Coast including at the following locations:


Toukley: 

Two services will be held at The Ary, Toukley (Holmes Avenue) starting with the Dawn Service at 5:20am and the Main Service at 9:45am.

The Ary Toukley will be open upon the conclusion of the Dawn Service with FREE bacon and egg rolls served in the club for attendees of the Dawn Service courtesy of the Toukley RSL Sub-Branch.

The Ary will close for a short period, before reopening to the public at 10am, with Two-Up to take place in Mason’s Place from 12pm alongside live entertainment.  


Wyong: 

Services will take place at both Wyong Town Park (10 Rakens Court) and Club Wyong (15 Margaret Street), commencing with the Dawn Service at 5:45am with the Main Service to take place at 10am.


Doyalson: 

Services for the Doyalson area will take place at the Doyalson-Wyee RSL Club (The Doylo, Pacific Highway) starting with the Dawn Service at 5:20am, followed by the Main Service at 8:30am.

The Doylo will open its doors following the Dawn Service for those attending the service, with live entertainment and the NRL live on the big screen from 12:30pm.


The Entrance: 

Services for The Entrance will take place at Memorial Park and Cenotaph (Marine Parade) from 5:30am, with the Main Service to commence at 11:50am.


Ourimbah: 

Over at Ourimbah, the Ourimbah RSL Club (121 Pacific Highway) will host two services – the Dawn Service at 5:30am and the Main Service at 2pm.

Following the Dawn Service, the Ourimbah RSL will host a BBQ Breakfast served in the club with Two-Up to take place on the Green from 11am with live entertainment to commence at 2pm.

Gosford: 

Gosford’s Memorial Park Cenotaph (Vaughan Avenue) will host two services with the Dawn Service taking place at 6am, with a Main Service to follow at 11am.

Gosford RSL will open on ANZAC day from 6:15am for the Dawn Service participants. A courtesy coach service will be available from Gosford RSL to the service, bookings are essential and have to be made via 4323 2311.

Breakfast post-dawn service available from 6:15am until 7:30am for a gold coin donation upon arrive. Two-Up will be played from 1:30pm.


Terrigal: 

The Terrigal War Memorial (The Esplanade) will host a Dawn Service on ANZAC Day at 4:45am.


Empire Bay: 

A Main Service will take place on ANZAC Day at the Empire Bay Cenotaph (Sorrento Road), commencing at 11am.


Davistown: 

The Davo (The Davistown RSL, 19 Murna Road) will host a Dawn Service at 6am on ANZAC Day.

The RSL will open from 6:30am, with breakfast available to purchase on the day. Two-Up will take place in the auditorium between 1pm and 4pm, with live entertainment taking place right across the day.


Woy Woy: 

Woy Woy’s Memorial Park (Brickwharf Road) will host two services – the Dawn Service at 5am, followed by the Main Service at 10:30am.

Several road closures will be in place across the Central Coast for the above services, with Central Coast Council encouraging locals to plan ahead and obey all detour signage and road closures throughout the day. Retailers On ANZAC Day:

Most major retailers run to restricted trading hours to recognise ANZAC Day across the country.

The major shopping centres on the Central Coast – Erina Fair, Bateau Bay Square and Westfield Tuggerah – will be open with restricted trading hours, all trading from 1pm – 9pm.

The major retailers – Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Liquorland, Dan Murphy’s, BWS, Big W and Kmart – will all also open at 1pm. Closing hours might differ from store to store, so we recommend checking with your local before heading out if you’ve forgotten milk.


Double Demerits:

NSW Police will be out in force from ANZAC Day on, with double demerits set to come into force from midnight Tuesday, April 23, 2024, and will continue until 11:59pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Speeding, mobile phone use, alcohol and drug driving, seatbelt and motorcycle helmet offences will be targeted throughout the period with holiday traffic also anticipated.
