It’s a good news day for those who like Tex-Mex because a Taco Bell store could be coming to the Central Coast!
According to the Central Coast Express Advocate, the popular Mexican food chain is set to lodge a development application with Central Coast Council for a $1.9 million store at Lisarow.
Developers behind the popular chain are proposing the latest store from the wildly popular chain be located within the Lisarow Plaza centre.
Taco Bell first tried to establish itself in ‘Straya in the 80s but a Sydney restaurant called ‘Taco Bell’s Casa’ argued (successfully) that consumers would confuse the two businesses so, no dice.
Our beloved Taco Bell then tried again in ’97, opening a store in the Sydney CBD only to leave again in 2005.
Haven’t tried Taco Bell yet? Then don’t worry because they are purveyors of super delicious tacos, nachos, burritos and other tasty Mexican cuisines.
The proposed development comes after news emerged earlier this week that a drive-thru Guzman Y Gomez is being proposed for Tuggerah.
A development application has been lodged with Central Coast Council to subdivide the pre-existing Hungry Jacks site on Anzac Road to construct the new Mexican restaurant.
The proposed $1.7 million development of the site would also include restaurant seating and a two-lane drive-thru, with dual order points according to the development application before Council.
The Development Application for Guzman Y Gomez is currently under assessment by Central Coast Council whilst Taco Bell remains in the early pre-lodgement stages.
