Top 5 free things to do in Terrigal

Who needs cash when you’ve got natures playground?!

Swim at Terrigal Beach

We’ve all got our own unique swimming style. Some people can swim like beautiful graceful Olympians, while others (like us) have more of a ‘seal trying to jump onto a slippery rock’ swimming style. But don’t worry – all swimming styles are accepted at Terrigal Beach! At Terrigal Beach, no one cares what you look like when you swim – they only care about if you shake out your sandy towel right into the wind!

Climb the stairs at The Skillion

Who needs the gym to get a leg workout when you’ve got The Skillion stairs! Memories of all those squats, curls and presses will fall away when you climb The Skillion stairs. The climb will make those glutes ache, but boy – is the view at the top worth it! From the viewing platform, you’ll be able to see all the way to Copacabana!

Picnic at The Haven

Why spend lunchtime eating your sad garden salad at home, when you could spend it munching on sausage sandwiches at Terrigal Haven! The Haven is just that – a haven – that offers up beautiful views of the beach, as well as plenty of places to picnic and BBQ facilities!

Fish from the rocks at The Skillion and Broken Head

If you’re looking for a new fishing spot, you’ll surely be lured in by the rocks along Terrigal’s coastline. You’ll be able to catch heaps of different species including black marlin, salmon, kingfish, Spanish mackerel, tailor bream and many more. A warning though – this does require some rock fishing skills, and it can be dangerous during high or rough tides.

Walk or run along Terrigal Drive

You didn’t buy those trendy Kmart joggers for nothing! Pull them on and get your heart pumping with a walk or run along Terrigal Drive. We recommend starting at The Skillion and running to the Scout Hall. This 4km route will give you a constant view of the stunning white sand, and spectacular blue water!
