Whatever Happened To Crabbe And Goyle From Harry Potter?

3 min read

What’s a villain without his cronies?

Ah Crabbe and Goyle. Say what you will about the brutish lumps who flanked Draco Malfoy, but they played a signif’ role. After all, what’s a villain without his cronies?

But what are Misters Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle up to these days?

Vincent Crabbe aka Jamie Waylett

A now 31-year-old Jamie Waylett has essentially disappeared. In fact, the actor, who portrayed Crabbe from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, never made it all the way through the franchise.

According to the BBC, Jamie was arrested in 2009 for growing marijuana in his family home. He also pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and possession of a knife. He was 20-years-old at the time, and ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work. He was let go from the film franchise, missing out on both Deathly Hallows installments.

In 2011, Jamie Waylett was arrested and found guilty of violent disorder during the London riots, BBC report. He was pictured “holding a petrol bomb” and “swigging from a stolen bottle of champagne”, during the riots. The former Vincent Crabbe received a two year sentence for violent disorder and 12 months for handling stolen goods.

And he hasn’t appeared in anything, headline or movie since.

He still appears to be pals with his movie bro however. Josh uploaded a picture, ostensibly on Jamie’s wedding day, to Instagram:

Gregory Goyle aka Josh Herdman

Portrayed by Josh Herdman (35), the character of Gregory Goyle managed to make it through the whole franchise with the same face.

In fact, Josh has gone on to a few other flicks including the 2018 film Robin Hood, alongside Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx and Jamie Dornan.

But, like Jamie Waylett, Josh Herdman has also stepped away from Hollywood. He began his MMA career in 2016 after five years of practising jiu jitsu.

“I chose MMA because I love the sport. It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable. I find it more interesting than boxing although I appreciate the beauty and art in boxing. It also made sense to move onto MMA because of my jujitsu training. I would like a few amateur fights first to get me started and where it goes from there, who knows?”

The more you know!
