Wine is good for you! And we have the perfect event to celebrate the news

It has been studied and debated widely and the findings are you should partake in some wine (fist pump!). We should say we don’t advocate drinking to excess but a wine with your meal every now and then can help improve your mental state, prevent some cancers and even help your heart.

When looking into this we found that Medical News Today have listed some major benefits to pouring yourself a glass:

  • Less likely to suffer depression. What? Isn’t alcohol a natural depressive? That’s we thought! However there is research to suggest that a few glasses a week saw decreased diagnosis of depression in study participants.
  • Keeping those nasty cancers at bay. Rates of Bowel Cancer, Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer and Lung cancer have decreased in those that consume red wine.
  • Stop the Botox, wine works as an anti-aging remedy! Red wine contains a compound called reservatol which has anti-aging properties. Tested on mice it increased their lifespan and improved their overall health. If the mice test isn’t enough for you to pick up the bottle consider this, anti-aging foods and nutrients have been around for centuries and red wine comes from a food that contains those exact properties…grapes!
  • Improve our memory and lower risk of dementia. Already I’ve forgotten the name of the compound that helps to do this but that ‘Reservathing’ helps keep us from the grips of memory loss. Obviously I need to drink more red wine!
  • Finally, a random benefit for grabbing a glass is that it helps to prevent sunburn. No, it’s not because you are too hungover to get out in the sun but because grape derivatives actually counteract the UV rays that cause our skin to burn.

If these benefits aren’t enough to get your seat at the Star 104.5 Wine Degustation Night at The Entertainment Grounds on Saturday 15th July then maybe the menu is:

First Course

Woodland Mushroom Tart, Mascarpone Horseradish Cream, Rocket Puree and Crispy Celeriac

Second Course

Third Course

Aged Baby Lamb, Spiced Potato Fondant, Zucchini Flower and Tomato Sage Pesto

Fourth Course

Well, my mouth is watering so I’m going to get my tickets before my memory fails, I forget to buy tickets and fall into a deep depression because I missed out!
