5 Best Beaches on the Central Coast

2 min read

We’ve still got another month of summer under our belts – one whole month of sun, sand and surf before we have to pull out our cosy jumpers and electric blankets. So, now is definitely the time to get as much use out of that cozzie at possible. It’s lucky for us Coasties that we have some of the best beaches in Australia. Read on to find out about some our Central Coast gems.

Macmasters Beach

Close to Bouddi National Park, Macmasters Beach stretches far and wide along the coastline. Home to a stunning ocean pool, this beach is perfect for those seeking the surf or those chasing the calm. It doesn’t matter what your beach style is, Macmasters is the place to be.

Terrigal Beach

One of the most well-known Central Coast beaches, Terrigal is home to a beautiful stretch of water and the iconic headland, The Skillion. If you’re looking to get fit, you can run up the stars to the top of The Skillion. Don’t worry, if you’re too tired to run back to the bottom, you can roll down the hill – a true Terrigal rite of passage.

Soldiers Beach

Nestled underneath the picturesque Norah Head Lighthouse, Soldiers Beach is patrolled and therefore, one of the most popular swimming destinations. It’s the perfect place to roll out your towel, lie down and sunbathe – then regret not reapplying sunscreen when you look like a lobster.

Avoca Beach

Enclosed by trees and hills, Avoca Beach is a like a little taste of the Whitsundays right on your door step. With ocean baths and cafes close by, this is one of the best beach destinations for those with kids. We recommend talking the kids (and the adults – we like to be included too!) to explore the rock pools. We challenge you not to find pools covered in starfish and plenty of other sea life.

Spoon Bay

Spoon Bay goes out to all those who love a calm beach. Usually known as the little sister to Forrester’s Beach, this bay is good for the entire family to go for a summer splash. Pull on your snorkel to explore under the sea – just be ready for that attractive red line left around your eyes from your goggles.
