The Aussie café charging $16 for a cup of coffee

1 min read

Would you buy it?

If you’re anything like us, you probably have a coffee addiction that can only be fuelled by a $5 flat white every morning. We only just manage to fit our daily $5 coffees into our weekly budget, so we can’t even fathom trying to budget for $16 coffees!

Well, the loyal customers of ONA in Sydney’s Inner West must have some pretty high budgets, judging by the price of the coffee.

The new café was opened by world famous barista Sara Sestic who believes that coffee should be enjoyed just like wine.

And although we might have had a mini-heart attack when we first saw the cost, the pricing actually makes a lot of sense when you get into it. These coffees are deemed to be some of the best in the world, and are all ethically sourced. Plus, the brewing process can take over 15 minutes.

According to the Sestic, the coffee has become quite popular amongst Sydney siders.

The café is open in Marrickville in Sydney’s inner west.
