How much are we spending on our fur-babies?
According to a Commonwealth Bank survey, Aussies are spending a whopping $743 million a year on their furry friends. That’s a leap of more than 90% in just two years!
So, where are we spending the most money?
Well, our biggest cost seems to be the dreaded visit to the vet. The vaccinations, the desexing, and those awkward visits when your dog eats something they shouldn’t all add up.
However, the area with the greatest growth is the shops. We’ve handed over an extra $179 million to pet stores since 2015. Hey, we needed that cute sausage dog outfit, right?
So, that accounts for most of the money – but where is the rest of our cash going? According to the survey, some pampered pets have pet chefs, designer clothes, and regularly visit the spa. Geez, they’re living a better life than we are!
