It’s no secret that property in Australia is expensive. But have you ever wondered just how pricey homes down under can get?
While many of us regular folk often contemplate whether or not we will ever be able to afford to buy a home there is a small portion of the Australian community who not only can afford a house, they can afford a beast of a mansion. Here is a list of some of Australia’s most expensive pads. Feel free to hate on the bazillionaires who own them.
1. Point Piper, NSW:
John Symond’s Point Piper mansion (which he put up for sale and then took back off the market again in 2016) is estimated to have a total value of $100 million. The house is fitted with no less than 24 bathrooms, along with two swimming pools, a library and a home theatre.
2. Vaucluse, NSW:
Leon Kamenev is said to have purchased four Vaucluse properties at almost $80 million in total back in early 2016. He is believed to be using the massive 6,986 square metre space to build a private compound. Because… you know, why not?
3. Vaucluse, NSW:
In April 2016, this property held the record for the most expensive sale of a single home. Chau Chak Wing was reported to have bought the mansion from none other than James Packer for a modest $70 million.
4. Mosman Park, WA:
This WA mansion is believed to have sold in 2009 for $57.5 million total. The home includes a cinema, a jetty and tennis court.
5. Point Piper, NSW:
This giant Sydney home is valued at a total of $52 million. *Faints*
Excuse me while I go cry for the rest of the day…
