Third place is a shock!
9Honey Kitchen engaged in a blind taste test of all the major Easter egg brands to see what chocolate treat was the most delectable! This must have been some serious hard work, am I right?
The taste testers judged the small, solid eggs as they were the most similar across all brands. All labels were removed, and the testers were asked to judge the eggs in the taste test on three main factors:
1. Mouthfeel and texture
2. Sugar to chocolate balance and overall flavour
3. Aftertaste
After chowing down on more than ten brands, the testers had their champion.
And the winner is…
Lindt!
According to the testers, the Lindt chocolate eggs were deliciously smooth, had a high cocoa butter content resulting in a rich and creamy taste, and left a pleasant taste in their mouth that left them wanting more!
Coming a close second was the family favourite – Cadbury. It was the most recognisable taste, and a flavour that all Aussie’s love.
However, third place was taken out by a “dark horse” in the chocolate world – ALDI’s Moser Roth Finest Easter eggs! According to the testers, there wasn’t much difference between these eggs and Lindt! Go ALDI!
