The best waterfalls near the Central Coast

2 min read

When looking for a good place to explore, do you feel like a fish out of water? Do you wish the ideas came like opening flood gates, but instead come like a tricking stream? Well, don’t cry a river of tears, because now you can just go with the flow because we’ve found not just one BUT FOUR waterfalls for you to visit. What can we say? When it rains, it pours!

Somersby Falls

Somersby Falls is probably the most well-known waterfall in the Central Coast – and we can see why! Walk along the short walking track then take a dip in the falls themselves. Plus with BBQs and picnic tables, it’s on of the best places on the Coast for a Saturday morning picnic – just keep an eye on the bush turkeys who might get a little pushy when you stop feeding them your sandwich!

Kariong Brook Falls

Also known as Kendall’s chair because of the shape of the rocks it flows over, the waterfall trickles into a pool that is perfect for swimming, especially after a good rainstorm. Seemingly untouched, your relaxing experience will surely not be watered down by too many people.

Strickland Falls

Just up the road from Somersby Falls is the beautiful Strickland Falls. Walk the 1.6km track to get to this beauty. We’re water-falling head over heels for these waterfalls!

Gap Creek Falls

Tucked away in the Watagans National Park, Gap Creek Falls is certain to fill any gap in your Saturday! Take the walk to the falls and watch them cascade above you. The waterfall is the most spectacular after heavy rains, but make sure to let the roads dry out before you brave it!
