2 min read

The shelter is being recognised for its amazing work with animals in need.

Central Coast Animal Care Facility has been named as one of the best shelters in the country with the facility landing in the finals for ‘outstanding animal shelter’ in the 2019 Jets Pets Companion Rescue Awards.

The national awards celebrate and recognise the achievements in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals, and acknowledge the hard-working volunteers who make up the backbone of animal shelters across the country.

The Erina-based shelter is one of four animal shelters up for the coveted ‘outstanding animal shelter’ award, and was chosen from over 1000 entrants in Australia.

The facility is being praised for its astounding efforts in rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming in the Central Coast region with dozens of animals rehomed each year.

They’re also being highlighted because of their domestic violence program which sees the shelter provide safety to the animals of domestic violence victims free of charge to enable the victims to seek help without fear their animals will be harmed.

The shelter is also looking to extend their operations with talks of a second location being opened in the region to provide more support for animals in need on the Central Coast.

The winner of prestigious award will be announced in a ceremony on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday 12th September.
