Central Coast burger named as one of the best in NSW

2 min read

They’ve definitely got the buns.

The buns have been tested. The meat has been judged. The sauces have been evaluated. And now, the best pub burgers in the finalists for the best pub burger in NSW have been revealed.

Judges from the Australian Hotel Association NSW journeyed across the state dining on mouth-watering buns to find the best pub burgers as a part of the AHA NSW Awards for Excellence.

They tested out burgers like southern fried chicken, pork belly, Angus beef, and truffle, judging each on a series of criteria that included presentation, value for money, meat-to-bun ratio, and quality of produce.

Now, they have released the official list of finalists – with one epic Central Coast burger making the cut!

The Dirty Harry Burger at The Lakes Hotel at The Entrance impressed judges with its Texas-style flavours and will soon go head-to-head with the other ten finalists to battle it out for the best burger in the state.

The burger sees two smoked beef patties topped with bacon, jack cheese, pickles, fried onion, mustard and tomato sauce, and served with crispy chips.

In their notes, the judges stated they were rapt with the smoky flavours, the juicy patties, and the tangy mustard.

Other finalists in the competition include the Mac ‘N’ Beef Burger from the Cauliflower Hotel in Redfern, The Jeso from Hotel Jesmond in Newcastle, and the Smoked Roughie from the Thouroughbred Hotel in Scone.

The winner of the ‘Best Burger’ will be announced at the Awards for Excellence Presentation Ceremony on 19th November.
