Central Coast fuel prices begin to climb as Easter approaches

1 min read

Not quite the Easter treat we were after.

With only hours until the Easter long weekend, the inevitable increase of petrol prices has hit the Central Coast with prices skyrocketing by up to 25c per litre.

Over the last 48 hours, petrol prices in some areas of the Coast have increased to $1.57 per litre for E10 – a jump of around 25c per litre from last week, and 11c more that the current national average.

According to FuelCheck, Caltex and 7Eleven seem to be leading the Easter price increase with other brands such as Metro, United and BP all sitting under $1.40 per litre, while Coles brand petrol stations are sitting between $1.38 and $1.48.

The price jump can be seen at Caltex’s and7Eleven’s in areas like Kincumber, Gosford, Wamberal, Lisarow, Long Jetty, Lake Haven, Blue Haven, Toukley, and at the M1 service station at Wyong.

However, the massive jump is yet to be seen in some parts of the coast with prices lingering around $1.30 – $1.32 in the Wyong and Wadalba areas.

Currently, the cheapest petrol in the northern part of the Coast can be found at Westside Petroleum for $1.29, while in the south you’ll be looking at $1.35 at the United petrol station in Wyong.
