As some of us might remember, Coke changed their recipe back in 1986 – and boy, did it fail. ‘New coke’ as it was known caused backlash of monumental proportions with millions of letters, phone calls, and protests.
So, with the announcement of a new Coke recipe, we’re a pretty hesitant.
The Australian arm of Cocoa-Cola announced that it’s set to change the recipe of some of its most popular soft drinks after backlash from health-conscious consumers.
The company is planning to reduce sugar levels by 10% in their Australian and New Zealand products by the year 2020.
Hopefully this new recipe works this time.
