Coles issues urgent recall, warns customers against dangerous ice creams

Pieces of metal have been found in the product.

Coles have reissued the recall of its brand of ice cream, intially recalled earlier this month, following the discovery of pieces of metal in the product.

The recall on the Coles Mini Classic 360ml six-pack in vanilla and was initially put out earlier this month for a batch with a best before date of 17/04/2020. It is unknown why the recall was reissued.

Coles have released a statement on its website to remind customers the recalled product had been available for sale since May 16 in supermarkets and online in NSW and Queensland.

“The recall is due to the potential presence of metal fragments. Customers should not eat these products,” the notice said.

“Food products containing metal may cause injury if consumed.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Customers have been advised to return the product to any Coles supermarket for a full refund.
