Coles relaunch their free hot roast chook policy

2 min read

Egg-cellent.

It’s the little-known policy that’s been circulating social media amongst chook lovers for months.

Major supermarket retailer Coles is said to have a policy in place that sees customers score a voucher for a free roast chicken if there are none available in the stores.

Signs were spotted on the heated chicken display that read:

If you’ve missed out on a Coles hot roast chicken from 11am to close, your next one is free.”

However, with questions raised over the policy in recent months with some customers claiming the voucher isn’t available in all supermarkets with some customers being turned down upon asking.

Others have suggested that the policy is being ‘phased out’ of Coles stores, while some state that the option is only available when the signs are shown on the hot chicken display.

With the heavy confusion and customers getting clucky, the team at New Idea Food discussed the claims with a spokesperson from Coles – and in great news for shoppers, he revealed that the supermarket hadn’t chickened out of the policy.

The spokesman revealed that Coles has recently relaunched their Coles Hot Roast Chicken Promise, and confirmed that the policy is available to all shoppers in every store across Australia – no egg-ceptions and no rules about signs being displayed.

So, if you’re after a chicken and can’t find one on display at your local Coles, you can head to the Deli or ask the Service Desk for a free voucher.

How egg-citing!
