Costco to offer online shopping in Australia by 2019

2 min read

BRB got to go buy 10,000 rolls of TP.

Brace yourselves folks ’cause Costco is headed online.

Yup! The rumours are true. The bulk-buy supermarket is building a giant facility in Kemp’s Creek, Western Sydney – at a $78 million dollar price tag mind you – which should hopefully be completed as soon as March 2019.

Aside from allowing us folk who prefer to shop from the comfort of the couch/bed/nearest flat surface, the new build will bring 1,000 new jobs to the area.

Nine News report that you’ll still have to be a member (at $60 p.a.) but there’s every chance you’ll get an online exclusive offer (there’s also the whole, ‘don’t have to go to a Costco car park’ thing).

Costco Australia general manager Patrick Noone also told our mates at Nine that it was too early to predict exactly what the home delivery cost sitcho will be, “We’ll look at either rolling it into the price or adding it on top,” he explained.

Which is fine ’cause like the old saying goes, ‘Anything other than supine is for suckers and we’ll pay for the luxury’*

*or something to that effect.
