You’ll need to pack some cash!

We all know that travel is expensive. Hell, if it wasn’t we’d be eating a hearty slice of pizza in Italy right now.

Even a holiday to Bali, one of the cheapest holiday destinations in the world, can still make a hearty dent in your pocket.

However, as a study from the World Economic Forum proved, some places are definitely more expensive than others.

Their Travel and Tourism Competitiveness report ranked 141 economies to judge how expensive it is to travel to that country, taking into account flights, hotels, daily expensive, fuel and purchasing power parity.

And the most expensive country to visit is…

Switzerland!

In Switzerland, the average one-way flight costs $1700, while the average hotel room costs around $337.82. Fuel costs sit around $2.63 per litre, and groceries, rent, and consumer good prices are around 40% more expensive compared to Australia.

Despite its high prices, it’s also one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. If your planning to make the journey, then make sure to pack your back pocket with some serious cash!
