What’s the deal with the creepy masks?!

Convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has reportedly arrived back home to Brisbane, more than 12 years after she was charged with trafficking marijuana in Bali.

Here is everything we know about her return so far:

She touched down at Brisbane International Airport a little after 5:00am on May 28th, 2017:

Corby and her sister Mercedes are said to have been picked up by a black van and transported from the airport in a convoy of eight cars. The convoy took different routes, in an effort to throw off the media.

It is believed she is staying at the Sofitel, Brisbane:

Her security has been seen at the hotel property, leading to the assumption that this is where Corby is located for the moment.

The Corby family has released a statement asking for privacy:

“To all those in Australia and all those in Bali who have been there throughout this difficult journey, your support has not gone unnoticed,” said a spokeswoman for the family, according to reports from the ABC.

“In the spirit of humility and the spirit of dignity, we ask all parties to show respect for the family’s privacy during this time.”

It has been reported that Corby was very emotional when arriving home:

News.com.au spoke to an air hostess from Corby’s flight who shared that she appeared to be frightened and nervous:

“She kept to herself a lot,” she said.

“She asked me: ‘Can you close the curtain?’ I said, ‘Why?’ and she said, ‘So no one can see.’ She covered her face and was so scared.

“After 13 years away, wow, I’m not surprised.”

The media have captured photos of people at Corby’s mother’s house wearing strange masks:

In what is assumed to be a message to the media, masked men have been spotted posing for photos from within the home of Corby’s mother, Rosleigh Rose.

Corby has documented her journey for the past few days on Instagram:

Corby, who shared her first post to Instagram one day ago, has been allowing people to follow her journey with a number of snaps from her trip to the parole office, to the airport and even once on the plane.

It certainly has been a long journey. We’re sure Corby is delighted to finally be home.
