Let’s grab some bargains!
Calling all bargain hunters and antique lovers! It’s time to count your change and grab your re-usable because the Central Coast Council is bringing the Garage Sale Trail back to the Central Coast this October!
The massive two-day event will see hundreds of local residents come together to host garage sales across the region on Saturday 19th October and Saturday 20th October.
Households, schools, community groups and local businesses across the Coast can all register for a sale, and can sign up as either a single sale or a group sale with multiple stalls in one location.
Savvy shoppers can follow an online map to all of the registered to hunt down the best bargains in the area.
Shoppers can also browse the various sales online, bookmark their favourite locations they plan to visit along the trail, or create their own custom trail based on selling categories such as kids and toys, antiques and collectables, and clothing and accessories
The initiative first kicked off in Australian in Bondi in 2010, and has since gained support from over 140 councils across the country including Central Coast Council, the City of Sydney, and Newcastle City Council.
The event was introduced on the Central Coast as a way for Coasties to not only connect with their neighbours and other people on the Coast, but also as a way to encourage re-use and sustainability in the region.
“Garage Sale Trail provides a great way to meet your neighbours and connect with the broader community whilst decluttering and raising money for yourself or local causes,” Major Jane Smith stated last year.
“We’re really pleased to be involved in this grass roots event that, like the reuse movement, is growing year on year.”
