And it comes with perfect selfie lighting.
Depending on what kind of gym-goer you are, you’re either rolling your eyes at that headline or jumping for joy that you could finally have an area to capture the true beauty of your muscle definition.
After a survey that found 43% of people had taken photos or videos of them working out, a gym in the US decided to install a ‘selfie room’ for their members to use. The room is to be used only for photoshoots, and is equipped with good lighting, grooming products and fitness accessories.
After the news of the addition broke on Twitter, the online community was quick to respond with a lot of users against the initiative.
“Before social media, the world lived on, blissfully without gym selfies! This seems like a waste of money to allot a room for gym selfies,” Twitter user jess_mason87 responded.
“God no. That’s so pompous and self-serving,” user jimkiss added. “I hate when I see people at the gym checking themselves out. Get over it.”
However, others were supportive of the idea.
“I think it should be a thing!” Franco N stated. “They always say part of feeling great is looking great, so if you’ve gained more muscle, why not broadcast it to your followers on social media?”
The debate continues to rage on Twitter.
