Are you happy about this?

McDonald’s has been under fire by health advocates for years and it looks like it’s kicking itself into gear.

The fast-food chain will soon BANISH cheeseburgers and chocolate milk from its Happy Meals menu.

The cut is made so the meals will lower the calories, sodium, saturated fat and sugar that children are consuming at the Golden Arches.

However, diners can ask for cheeseburgers and chocolate milk if they would like but the chain has said not listing them will reduce how often they’re ordered.

Four years ago McDonald’s cut soda from the Happy Meal menu and orders for it with the children’s meal fell 14 per cent.

The Happy Meal has been targeted by parents who link it to childhood obesity. The franchise has made tweaks over the years like cutting the size of its fries and adding slices of fruit. It has also swapped its apple juice for one that has less sugar.
