The new Mamma Mia 2 trailer is out and it definitely suggests Donna is dead. Eg Meryl Streep will not be a character in the new film. (But she will be a character in Big Little Lies season 2!).
Fans have lit their pitch forks and are aiming their hate at the producers of Mamma Mia 2. They want to know where Donna is and how she died.
Well, how about you wait until the movie comes out like the rest of us.
“I need to know for sure if Donna’s dead because if she is I’m not bloody going!”
“Should be studying – instead I’m analysing the new Mamma Mia trailer and calculating the odds that they did not kill Donna and I can get my full Meryl Streep dose despite all my worries!”
“Where is Meryl Streep in this sequel? She still seems dead in this trailer. This is getting more and more horrible at every turn.”
“Proper panicking, I swear if they’ve killed off Donna in Mamma Mia then I’m already DONE with this year!!!”
“Can I just say that #MammaMia2 better have a good reason for killing off Donna or I will revolt!”
Mamma Mia 2’s plot seems to go back to when Donna was younger and had just moved to Greece.
Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper who will reprise their roles as Sophie and Sky. Julie Walters is back as Rosie and Christine Baranski as Tanya, while Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård and Oscar winner Colin Firth return to play Sophie’s three possible dads: Sam, Bill and Harry. Cher is making a cameo as Sophie’s grandmother.
The first Mamma Mia! The Movie premiered 10 years ago. The sequel will be out 20 July 2018.
