NO FIRES PERMITTED.
Above average temperatures and very dry conditions have led to a total fire ban being declared across the Central Coast today.
A serve fire danger rating has been implemented in the Central Coast region as well as the nearby Greater Sydney Region and the Greater Hunter areas.
Residents in these regions are not permitted to light a fire and all fire permits have been temporarily suspended until midnight tonight. This includes incinerators, barbeques and outdoor pizza ovens which burn fuel such as wood, charcoal or heat beads.
Furthermore, wielding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting cannot be done in the open during this time.
An extreme fire danger rating has also been declared in the North Coast, New England and Northern Slopes areas, along with a serve risk in the Far North Coast and North Western regions, and a high very high risk in the Illawarra/Shoalhaven area and the Southern Ranges.
The total fire ban will be in place until 11.59pm tonight.
