Bring the tissues!

A stunning exhibition from a local artist is on at Gosford Regional Gallery – and boy, we would recommend packing some tissues for this one.

‘Dying to See’ is the documentation of much-loved Central Coast painter Graehme Balchin’s journey with terminal illness before his death in July of this year.

After receiving a terminal diagnosis, he used his art as a way to deal with his own mortality, reflect on the emotional turbulence of his diagnosis, and relate his deteriorating health to the inevitable processes found in nature.

His stunning works allowed him to leave his mark on the world, while exploring a multitude of different themes including mortality, light, shadow, vulnerability and inner power.

Balchin was determined to finish these works, and this exhibition was named just days before his passing.

The exhibition will run until Saturday 3rd February. Entry is free.
