Thurston slams Queensland after State of Origin upset

1 min read

“Dumb footy”

Sunday night’s Origin win for NSW saw the Blues take their second title win for the comp in a whopping 13 years and while NSW locals are celebrating, some Queensland supporters, including Jonathan Thurston, are not happy with the performance given by the Maroons.

As news.com.au has reported, Thurston shared his disappointment while speaking with Channel 9.

“I’m a little bit dumbfounded by the way the Queenslanders played with 12 men on the field,” Thurston said, referring to the 10 minute period in the late stages of the game where James Roberts was sin-binned.

“A centre going off for 10 minutes — I don’t think they [Queensland] targeted that edge much,” he continued.

“The first set that they had Ben Hunt kicks it dead (for a) 20m restart. That’s a brain explosion on the third tackle.”

“Like Joey said it was last year it was dumb footy.”
