Hold up.
If you’re like us, you probably thought that there were three different kinds of capsicums out there – red, green and yellow.
Well, as it turns out, there is only one type of capsicum, but there are various stages of ripeness. All capsicums start off green, turn yellow and then red.
According to Harris Farm, green capsicums tend to be bitter and a little crunchier, while yellow and red capsicums have a fruity, sweet flavour.
And it seems that we weren’t the only ones who didn’t know. One Twitter user posted the fact to her account, and it quickly went viral with over 53,000 shares and 265,000 likes.
Are you as shocked as we are?
