Turns out people have been claiming to get their nails done.
It’s that time of year again, and boy, do we wish we prepared a little more. Now, we’re trying to find a receipt for our dry cleaning from back in August 2017, and questioning if it’s possible to claim back wine as a tax expense because we’re going to need a few glasses to get our return done this year.
News.com.au has reported that people have successfully claimed Xbox consoles, breast implants and ceremonial swords. Before you go out to pick up an Xbox or book in to go under the knife, make sure that it’s relevant to what you do for work.
The Xbox was claimed by a small business, the breast implants by an exotic dancer, and the swords by a sword swallower.
There are lots of strange things that you might be able to claim back on tax.
Are you a professional, competing body builder? You can claim back your spray tans during competition time.
Maybe you work as a hand model? Make sure to keep your receipts from your manicures.
Or perhaps you’re a professional cuddler? Don’t hesitate to claim back on tax.
The possibilities are endless, however make sure you have evidence to back up your claims because falsified claims can get you into some serious trouble with the ATO.
