Where to recover from Australia Day on the Central Coast

There’s a reason why it’s a long weekend.

Pull up the covers and spend the day in bed

If you were up late last night playing pin the goatee on Shannon Noll, you might want to spend the day regaining your energy. We suggest an Aussie movie marathon! Whip out classics like The Castle, Crocodile Dundee, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and The Dish for a movie marathon you won’t soon forget. In the words of Darryl Kerrigan, this movie list is going straight to the pool room.

Recharge and re-caffeinate at Quattro Restaurant

If you don’t have the luxury of staying tucked under the covers, make sure you grab a cup of strong coffee to keep you going throughout the day. A service station coffee just won’t cut it today. Pop down to Quattro Restaurant for rich and complex brews that will take you from depresso to expresso in seconds. Choose from long blacks, viennas, lattes, flat whites, doppios, espressos, and macchiatos. But the winner would have to be their moonshine coffee! You’ll thank us a latte for this suggestion. It’s going to be a brew-tiful day!

Recover from the heat by the water

Nothing perks you up quite like a dip in the pool or the ocean. Let the water wash away a long day, then recharge on the deck chair or sand. There are only three rules for a recovery day at the beach. Firstly, you must have snacks. It doesn’t matter if you bring the left-over cheese and crackers from the 26th or buy a massive serving of fish and chips – you have to have something to munch on. Secondly, you must bring a cheesy book to read while sunbathing – preferably a cheesy romance novel. And finally, you must relax!

Dine on a big breaky at Ettalong Diggers

After a long day of swimming, barbequing, and jamming out STAR104.5 tunes, you’ll probably wake up starving! So, pop down to Ettalong Diggers for a classic big breaky. There’s nothing better than tucking in to a plate filled with eggs, bacon and sausage when your tummy is rumbling. However, if your stomach is still recovering from one too many sausage sandwiches and slices of pavlova, there’s some lighter options such as their delectable granola and their avocado toast. That’s breakfast sorted!
