Gogglebox casting is officially open if you want to get paid to watch TV

Tag your couch potato partner!
It’s the reality show you were certain wouldn’t last. But it’s been four years and Gogglebox is still raking in the viewers.
Now producers have revealed they are on the lookout for more families to be couch potatoes. Your time to shine could be coming, why wouldn’t you want to get paid to watch TV? According to the application, potential cast members should be “witty and warm people who love everything about TV and want to share their views with Australia.” Speaking to TV Tonight, Foxtel boss, Brian Walsh, said they were auditioning earlier in the year but have not been able to find the ideal candidates. “We are continuing to audition for Gogglebox. We were in Queensland [for the first time] looking for new cast but didn’t quite find the right ingredients,” he stated. The program, produced by Endemol Shine Australia, announced their focus to bring in two households from Brisbane, altering the 60/40 Melbourne/Sydney split currently in rotation. “We’re very excited to find Queensland personalities to put in the mix. When Gogglebox first started we were restricted in what we could accommodate with the fast turnaround of the show,” Executive producer David McDonald said. “Now in our fifth year of production, it’s time to expand, so it was decided (very wisely) to go north and capture the unique voice of the Queensland territory.” The auditions come after OG cast members Wayne Mott and Tom Walsh, and Yvie Jones and Angie Kent, left the show last December and created openings. This time, producers are looking for Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents from a diverse range of households living in Sydney, Brisbane, The Gold Coast or Melbourne.
