Milo revert to old recipe after massive customer backlash

2 min read

Milo lovers did NOT like the change!

One fateful day in 2015 Nestlé made the decision to roll-out a new, healthier Milo recipe.

The company said the new formula was an “improvement” for health benefits, as it included vitamin D, B3, B6, B12.

It sounds great on paper except it involved the removal of one crucial ingredient – vanilla flavouring.

And according to some, Milo has never tasted the same since.

Just ask these people:

If you’re a true Milo connoisseur you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. If you only dabble in Milo occasionally you’re probably thinking, “I didn’t even know they changed the recipe.”

But that doesn’t matter because Nestlé has announced they’re changing the recipe back to the  less healthy, sugary, tasty version and we’re happy as Larry.

Nestlé Business Manager Anna Stewart said in the years since the switcheroo that the company put the Milo formulation through extensive development and taste testing only to discover people hated it.

So they’ve done the smart thing and listened to the people.

“We’ve had ongoing feedback that [consumers] missed the old taste of Milo, so we knew it was time to bring it back,” she said.

Only took four years Milo. But better late than never, we guess.
